Coronavirus Update

The training hub has been involved in a number of programmes of work aimed at supporting staff through the pandemic – from development of induction programmes to support staff returning to practice after a break, to online training and development and promotion of wellbeing apps for staff (link to wellbeing section here please).

Work continues to ensure that staff are able to access training and education opportunities safely, in some instances restructuring courses so that they are delivered remotely online if appropriate to do so.

The video opposite is a recorded training session developed and delivered by colleagues in North Central London. Whilst the service models are different to those in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and as such, caveats will need to be applied, the principles are generic in terms of supporting clinicians in the management of patients. The session covers infection prevention and control, the value of remote assessment in primary care and how to achieve this, how to manage specific groups and clinical resources to help decision making.

“This is one of the best resources that I have come across, so I really want to share it. Not everything will apply to our local area, and the service models are different, but the principles are very useful and generic.”
